Yeh IDeology is a recruiting firm specializing in design and strategy. Our client, a world-class manufacturer of home & residential products located in the midwest, is looking for a highly talented and passionate Manager of Human Factors to join their team.

This is a leadership position that manages the growth of the Consumer Insights group and ensures that application of Design Research and Ergonomic principals across our full product range. Provide support and solutions to the Industrial Design and Product Development departments in the development of innovative product solutions, services concepts, experiences and human interfaces.

MAJOR TASKS

-Determine appropriate approaches to concept development, design research, and usability testing.
-Continuously explore and develop new methods of research, data collecting and idea verification as appropriate to cost and time timing factors.
-Maintain current awareness of consumer and competitor product offerings relative to Human Factors issues and requirements in both U.S. and foreign markets.
-Ensure Design Research and Ergonomics facilities and testing methods are on the leading edge of our industry by exploring state of the art measuring devices, techniques, and equipment.

-Collaborate with design leads to set new product development targets and priorities.
-Conduct consumer specific design research into human physiology and psychology to better understand trends, and needs.
-Define Design Research methods that are robust, rigorous, and repeatable
-Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking via carefully designed usability surveys, data analysis.
-Design and execute usability studies, analyze data, provide actionable recommendations to product development teams.
-Manage, mentor and develop Design Research and Ergonomics team providing individual development plans.
-Identify new product opportunities and usability issues.

Education

Bachelor of Science degree from accredited school or college of applied psychology, engineering, human factors, or an equivalent field of science.
