1. Self Editing — Knowing how to tailor your portfolio towards a specific job opportunity shows attention to detail and genuine interest in the position and field.
2. Skills and Knowledge — If you know production processes, can speak Portuguese, are an expert in woodworking, or have any other skills or competencies, tell us! A well-rounded person makes for a more interesting candidate.
3. Know Yourself — Are you a “Diva” designer? A “Behind The Scenes” designer? A “Team Player” or a “One Man Show”? Let us know! Our clients look for all different types of designers, and we want you to be yourself.
4. Be Truthful — The more honest you are with us, the more we will learn about you, which will lead to a better match with a client.
5. Be Confident — Show pride in your work, but refrain from coming across as arrogant.

2. Sketches
3. Ideation
4. Any manifestation information (production processes)
5. Finished pieces
1. Finished pieces that don’t show any sketching or ideation. Showing your process is a must!
2. Mislabeled work — If you worked with another designer or team, make note of it within your portfolio. It’s a good trait to be able to work in a team, and a bad trait to take all the credit.
3. Comic Sans typeface, unless you designed a comic book.
